What We Do

NannyTrack performs background investigations on childcare providers which result in our unparalleled NannyTrack Reports. The NannyTrack Report is a unique and invaluable tool for you to have in your arsenal as you face the challenge of hiring an individual to care for your children.

Why NannyTrack?

Many background search firms do not take the time or the effort to review the information retrieved in searches. Our highly-trained and experienced NannyTrack investigators synthesize every last bit of information located in our extensive searches. Additionally, because our team employs specialists in every area (such as identification, litigation, and media research) you can rest assured not only that our searches cover more ground, but more of the right ground, than those of other agencies. The goal of the NannyTrack investigation is to provide you with the most relevant information in a format that it is easy to read and understand. Unlike other firms, we provide a distilled narrative report with all our findingsóprimary documents are reviewed for you and provided only as attachments, where applicable, for your records. (Many firms simply hand these over to you and expect you to do the rest.)

Simply put, our research reports are the sine qua non of your hiring process. Many of the most well-known and successful investors have entrusted us with their due diligence needs for years-why shouldn't you?

What We Search

  • Identification sources: we confirm the subject's name(s), Social Security number, and date of birth, and establish an address history. (Once identification is established, we search all known surnames-including maiden names and aliases.)
  • Litigation: we search all county-level and federal courts (civil and criminal) in every jurisdiction in which the subject has been reported in the last 10 years, and often further back if warranted and allowed by law. Nationwide searches are performed for bankruptcy matters and federal suits. We also search nationwide judgment and lien records, and databases of judicial opinions.
  • Ownership records: we review all property records naming the subject. These records often also include mortgage information.
  • Corporate records: these records will show businesses established by the subject or with which the subject is/has been involved in addition to her employment as a childcare provider.
  • News: our comprehensive news searches utilize Lexis-Nexis and additional news databases which include sources dating back more than 40 years.
  • Department of Motor Vehicle Records: we verify that the subject's driver's license is current and valid, review any restrictions and obtain a copy of driving record in states where retrieval is not subject to privacy laws. Vehicle registration is also verified where possible.
  • National Sex Offender Registry: we search this national database for any matters naming the subject.
  • Credit History: with the childcare provider's authorization (and at your request) we pull and interpret a subject's credit report.
  • Prior Employers: we verify all prior employments directly unless instructed otherwise by the client. During this process we also determine whether the former employer is willing to provide a reference directly to our client.
  • Education: if applicable, educational credentials and attendance dates are verified.
  • Interviews: for an additional fee, our skilled interviewers perform reference interviews with former employers. Detailed summaries of our conversations are then added to our final report.
  • Government Agencies: files of the the U.S. Department of the Treasuryís master list of Specially Designated Global Terrorists, FBI Fugitives 10 Most Wanted, Most Wanted Terrorist, Politically Exposed Persons, and Interpol European Union Most Wanted (Recent Event Red Alerts) are also searched.
